Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

When you use Jane, we collect:

• Account info: Google profile (name, email, profile picture) used for authentication.
• Page content: Text from web pages you choose to process through Jane actions. Content is sent to our servers for LLM processing and is not stored after the response is generated, unless you explicitly save it to your knowledge base.
• Knowledge base: Content you save is stored in our database and associated with your account.
• Usage data: Action counts and types for billing and analytics. No page URLs or content are logged.
• Payment info: Processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Provide and improve Jane's AI reading features.
• Process billing and credit transactions.
• Send transactional emails (receipts, account changes).

3. Third-Party Services

• Google: OAuth authentication.
• Stripe: Payment processing.
• Google Gemini API: LLM processing of page content.
• Cloudflare: Hosting and infrastructure.

4. Data Retention

Knowledge base entries are retained until you delete them. Account data is retained while your account is active. You can request account deletion by contacting us.

5. Your Rights

You can export, correct, or delete your data at any time through the extension settings or by contacting us at privacy@getjane.app.

6. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication uses signed session cookies. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant).

7. Children

Jane is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via the extension or email.
